PDF Print E-mail
Dear parishioners and friends,

Due to illness the long-time webmaster of the Holy Virgin Cathedral website, Protodeacon Nicholas Triantafillidis, has resigned from his duties. Father Nicholas created HVC's first site and put in countless hours to make it a both a source of information and a means for people to have prayers said for them at St. John's relics and to receive St. John's oil. On behalf of the HVC parish and visitors to the HVC site THANK YOU dear Fr. Nicholas. We ask everyone to pray for Protodeacon Nicholas and his family.

Archpriest Peter Perekrestov

Russian River Church Building Appeal PDF Print E-mail

A world wide appeal from both His Eminence, Archbishop Kyrill and His Grace, Bishop Theodosy was recently issued in regards to the construction work taking place at the Kazan Mother of God church in Guerneville, CA. Over the last few years, considerable damage has been discovered to the overall structure of the church and surrounding buildings. A building project is currently underway to make necessary repairs and needs additional funds for completion.

Last summer, Archpriest Paul Volmensky and several of his parishioners from the Sacramento parish travelled to the church in Guerneville to assist with some of the demolition work. A local carpenter is working on the outdoor decks. Rotten wood below the existing church structure was completely removed and two new bathrooms were remodeled. More construction work is planned in February.

As stated in the appeal:

"'Be merciful, as your Father in heaven is merciful' (Luke 6:36). May the blessing of the Lord be upon you all!"
