  • At the Spring meeting of the Diocesan Council of the Western American Diocese in March the diocesan treasurer reported that a record sum was collected for the diocesan Youth Department and the 2016 St. Herman’s West Youth Conference. The largest contribution in the diocese was made by the Holy Virgin Cathedral. Thank you, dear parishioners and worshippers for your generosity and care for the youth.
  • On Tuesday, March 21, Holy Virgin Cathedral’s retired Archdeacon Ambrose (Taratuchin) was tonsured by Bishop Theodosy of Seattle to the great schema. The tonsure took place in the lower church of the Finding of the Relics of St. John.
  • The annual General Meeting of the parishioners of Holy Virgin Cathedral took place on Sunday, March 19. At the meeting Luke Erceg delivered a letter to Archbishop Kyril from His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of Serbia. Vladika Kyrill read the letter out loud – Patriarch Irinej thanks Archbishop Kyrill and the Holy Virgin Community for their work and support of children and youth, especially with the two schools under the auspices of the cathedral.
  • On Wednesday, March 15, the Mother of God in Her Hawaii Iveron Myyrhstreaming Icon made a surprise visit to Holy Virgin Cathedral after the evening service. Thanks to Starosta’s e-mail notification, many people came to pray and venerate the Icon and be annointed.
  • At the early Liturgy on Sunday, April 2, the homily was offered by a guest from Missouri, Priest Moses Berry.
  • The blessing of Paschal baskets will take place on Saturday, April 15 from 7:00 pm-10:45 pm, as well as after immediately following the Paschal Lirturgy.
