  • The feast day of the cathedral's side altar, dedicated to St. Nicholas of Myra, will be celebrated on Monday, December 19. Liturgy is scheduled for 9:00 am.
  • On November 6, the Holy Virgin Cathedral feast day, the parish Sisterhood fed more than 600 clergy, parishioners and faithful. On November 15-16 they hosted and fed over 65 clergy and lay participants of the 2017 Western American Diocesan Assembly. On behalf of both the clergy and faithful – thank you! 
  • 95 years ago Lieutenant-General Baron Wrangel established the Gallipoli Society, exactly a year after the arrival of the first troops of the Russian Army to Gallipoli. On Saturday, November 19, after the Divine Liturgy, in memory of this occasion a memorial service for the heroes of the White Armyю
  • On November 13 the Holy Church marks the memory of Saints Spyridon & Nicodemus, the Prosphora-bakers of the Kiev Caves. The cathedral clergy and parishioners of Holy Virgin Cathedral would like to thank the women volunteers for their labor of faith and love in baking thousands of prosphoras a year for the Divine Liturgy. The phosphor baking group welcomes any help: if anyone is interested in volunteering, please see the cathedral warden, Mr. Nick Buick.
  •  Special collections for the St. Herman West Youth Conference. will be held on three consecutive Sundays (December 4, 11 & 18) in all parishes of the Western American Diocese. Our parish has been challenged to collect at least $1,000.00 for the work of the diocese's Youth Department, please be generous!
  • The new vicar Bishop of the Western American Diocese, His Grace Bishop Irenei of Sacramento, celebrated his first Sunday Liturgy at Holy Virgin Cathedral on November 20. He offered the Sunday homily and took part in the fellowship meal after the service.
