  • The feast day of the cathedral's side altar, dedicated to St. John of Kronstadt, will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 1. Liturgy is scheduled for 9:00 am.
  • On November 6, 2016, the Holy Virgin Cathedral feast day, Archimandrite Irenei (Steenberg) will be consecrated as Bishop of Sacramento, Vicar to Archbishopp Kyrill. Guest bishops will include Archbishop Peter of Chicago and the Midwest, Bishop Nicholas of Manhattan and Bishop John of Naro-Fominsk. Fr. Irenei's nomination is scheduled for Saturday, November 5 at 4:45 pm.
  • On Thursday, October 20, Archpriest Serge Kotar's namesday, a delegation of eight clergymen the Kiev-Caves Monastery in Kiev (headed by Archimandrite Zachary, spiritual father of the monastery) communed at the daily Divine Liturgy and then served a Molieben with Bishop Theodosy before the icon of St. Sergius of the Kiev-Caves. 
  • The Saints Kyrill & Methodius High School recently had a promotional video produced. You can view it on the Western American Diocese site, here. The Parent's Committee of the school is holding an Argentine Asado (barbecue) fundraiser for the 2017 graduating class on Sunday, October 30, from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm, at the Holy Virgin Cathedral fellowship hall.
  •  A member of the Holy Virgin Cathedral and choir bass, Eugene Krassovsky, has been elected the new President of the Russian Center of San Francisco. Congratulations!
  • An exhibit prepared by the Congress of Russian Americans, about the life of Russian refugees on the Tubabao Island, is now open Monday through Fridays, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Kalayaan Hall at the Philippine Consulate at 447 Sutter Street in San Francisco, and runs through November 11, 2016. 
  • On Wednesday, October 26, the funeral service for Monk Paul (Dr. Paul Suslov in the world) took place at Holy Virgin Cathedral. Archbishop Kyrill and Archpriests Peter Perekrestov, Mark Gomez, Serge Kotar and Alexander Krassovsky celebrated.
